I also plan to clear the Cornish branches, the Weymouth branch, and make a start on the Valleys this summer.

I'm planning to finish coverage of the Underground tomorrow, within zone 6 at least. Originally I had planned to do the lot within zone 9, but to do that properly means doing Rickmansworth Curve and that needs special planning. Might try and do the new bit of the East London Line too.

My updated map. Got all my Southern route covered now outside of London Zone 6. Managed a little bit of South West Trains route to Alton. Next on the list is to complete South West Wales which hopefully I will do in June.

Here is my updated version, having now covered the North Wales Coast Line, the Cambrian Coast line up to Tywyn and a few various lines around Manchester and Cheshire which I embarked on a Cheshire day ranger trip in order to complete.

Not bad considering I'm only 14 Cleared most main lines, all Cornish branches and pretty much most of London. Just need to venture up to Scotland and do most of the line up there.

Here's my updated route coverage including the newly completed Anglia Plus region which means that once I do Kings Lynn in the summer, I have completed the entire area in the North east anglia.

Just completed an Anglia Plus, so that's Anglia turned blue. Also did Hampton Court and Chessington South on a travelcard on the way home, that only leaves the Epsom Downs - walk - Tattenham Corner to do that's totally in the travelcard area.

On hols again in a couple of weeks, not going far though. Severn and Solent or West Country. Not done Falmouth on previous trips down west, might even get to Severn Beach - considering that I live in Bristol it's amazing that I still haven't got past Clifton Down..

Here are my poor efforts!

I have been from Retford to London about four times, and have been to York and Lincoln a few times as well, so I have covered a few more miles than this suggests (just the same bit of track!)

To clarify on the finer details near to Manchester and London, I have travelled between London Victoria and East Croydon (the termini aren't clear on the map), and I have travelled between Buxton and Deansgate (I can't see the latter on the map).

I finished everything on the Underground within zone 6 last week, just leaves the outer reaches on the Metropolitan to do now. Also re-completed the Overground network, so just the Tube bits and a PSUL move to do within the London zones now

Well done. I wish (being Cornish based but many years ago) that I could have covered so many lines at 14 years of age. Though when I was 14 back in 1967/8 so many lines were still being closed due to the Mad Axe Man, Dr Beeching!.

Can I urge you though to do Scotland and keep your eyes open. This year I have done all the West Coast of Scotland for the first time and it was an amazing experience; from Glasgow to Mallaig, Fort William and Oban to all the termini from Stranraer northwards to Ardrossan, Largs, Wymess Bay and Gourock.

Use Rover tickets and plan for delays etc. It would make your rover experience so much more memorable. Keep an eye open for engineering works that may hinder your plans and which may also give you the chance to cover lines not normally used in passenger services. A few of my coverage lines have excitedly been done by accident, due to engineering work and unavoidable diversions.

Congratulations on what you have done so far and good luck for the future.

Southern and Great Western are my weak areas. I need a few in-fills in Scotland and the North, and the Cumbria Coast has proved elusive for me!

At some point I'll do the full map, but apart from a few mainly freight lines & curves in PSUL, the major route I've left to do is Cardiff to Ebbw Vale Parkway plus the new bits of the London Overground from Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction, everything else has been covered from 1977 to 2012.

I'm off to Scotland this summer to cover the Cowlairs north curve and the Inverness Station avoiding line...

Got some interesting route coverage this weekend. I snagged the Edinburgh South Suburban (the line which avoids Waverley) and then also the Alloa - Dunfermline freight only line. The second of which was a very nice run along the Firth of Forth.

Knocked off Falmouth on my SW 8 in 15. Spent most of the time visiting nice places rather than bashing. St Ives was as stunning as ever, spent a sunny afternoon there before going back to Penzance for grub and 57603 on the up waker.

Off to do an East Mids next week, got an itinerary to cover all the red in that area including Brigg and Syston.

I've started to look in detail at what motive power transported me for the first time on the various lines I've covered.

Cornwall's coverage was provided by 40145, 47442, 50031,150243, 153305/361/377/382.

Devon involved 45066, D1032, 150240/266, 153377 and 159010 (over a period of 39 years, and I've still.not reached Okehampton).

First one's a piece of cake to do, happens regularly enough if I recall correctly. Same for the second one, stupdenously easy to do! Castle Donnington not so much so, although I scooped that in on a 170/5 in Central Trains days when I went to Nottingham, think that was 2004. Still, UKR seem to run over that bit often enough in an average year. Done most of the lines around Toton, just need the High Level Goods line and the little curve to the Nottingham line now

I don't think diversions down the joint line avoiding Sleaford is that frequent. Toton High Level Goods is easy to scoop during diversions southbound. Castle Donington is happening on Sunday 8th September for anyone still needing it.
