Hi, I was wondering how many people on this forum are 'line bashers' and what you think of it. I know the route coverage map thread is busy and after a member of this forum told me that all line bashers are 'stoats' I just wondered how many of us do it...
I for one do :)

I do bashing more than photting now because of a lack of a decent camera

I think its kind of good to say you've visited so many parts of the UK :)

I wouldn't say that anyone on this forum is a line basher as such... well, except a few.

It's good just to keep track of where you have visited...

Im afraid I'll have to admit to this, as I'm embarrassed for how little coverage I actually have!

I have quite a lot of coverage considering how long ago I started... I never thought I would be going to York on a steamer two years ago ;)

Most of the lines I have covered have been as a result of forum meets over the past 3-4 years on TTF (when it was big before RailUK Mk1 opened) and on RailUK

I'm quite happy with my coverage so far considering I started less than a year ago. I'm not a big line basher, but I will go out places to get coverage.

I used to be a massive line basher, but I've since changed priorities. Unit-only lines will be about for a long time yet, the HSTs however will not. So I'm focusing on the HSTs whilst they are still about!

All line bashers are stoats eh? I'd love to know who told you that...

I'll go back to line-bashing more when my favourite traction has gone. I'll still do bits of it here and there, but mainly on railtours so I can count new track as covered on Rateable Traction. Doing so on April 14th...<D

I wouldn't exactly go out my way for lines but i'd go new places

1. day out
2. see a lass
3. nothing else to do
4. for a laugh <-- the main one

but it's nice to say on the monday, where you been? ah only up town going to Derby though one day
Someone else: that's a mission away where you been Mark over the weekend?
Me: Ah only been in London not that far away, Derby ent that far though.
My teacher: Bloody el Mark, the travel year 11

Next lesson:

year 7 into my science class: Is Mark Williams there?
Me: Yep
y7: gotta go down C block
Me: crap
<walk in and i get asked how to get to Twickenham>

I think he is saying that teachers ask him for travel information.

Oh and as for who said "line bashers" are "stoats", well surely line bashing is only one small part of the hobby? And exploring the country is not something your average stoat has the ability or cash to do. No - they stick to the same location day in, day out!
