I think the Wikipedia page on Cardiff Central could be in need of some house keeping. It claims 5 of FGW's Cardiff-Taunton services are class 67 hauled, a practice I thought had ceased.

More interestingly, the page claims new XC services (to Glasgow Central via Gloucester with Voyagers and Worcester Shrub Hill (presumablly with 170s)) will start in 2012. Another claim is that the Milford Haven - Manchester and Carmarthen - Manchester services will be formed of 2x 175 with a split, one unit going to Liverpool Lime Street and the other to Manchester.

Is any of this correct, or should I try and remember my login details and edit the page?

ATW havent got enough units now, so unless someone is going to be ordering either some more class 175's from alstom (providing they still have the jigs etc) or some class 172's i cant see it happening. If they do order some new DMU's then they would have to order some for the cambrian etc and you also have the Fishguard services as well.

Another if the claim about ATW was true someone working in the WAG or ATW would have said something by now.

Aren't crosscountry short of stock as well? the only time i can see them going via Worcester is on diversions's. London Midland are more likely to run their proposed Hereford - Worcester - Gloucester - Swindon service before crosscountry start running more services via Worcester.

Also when did ATW last use a class 175 on the cardiff - Fishguard Hbr boat train? Also no trains from Cardiff to Weymouth, these run to Taunton/Paignton

Thought so, thanks for backing up my thoughts. I've inserted some {{dubious}} marks into the offending article.

What proposed Hereford - Swindon service!. LM Don't want to run to Gloucester let alone Swindon. Only capacity for the current hourly Hfd-Bham service plus FGW London service on single line from Hfd to Malvern.

I suppose the next load of rubbish will be the reopening of Hfd-Ross on Wye-Glos using rengined class 60's p/p with mk4's.

That service was proposed in 1 of the RUS' and has been mentioned on a few railway forums. I was only quoting what i had read, besides FGW refused to allow any more services to run between Gloucester & Swindon from what I heard.

Besides my opinion it would be nice to have such a service , but seems more like a wishlist to me.

As for the single line between Hereford - Malvern FGW do manage to fit some of their Hereford - London services along there as well as the Hereford - Birmingham Service.

Dont appreciate your sarcastic comments by the way!!!

Don't take what the RUS says as gospel as they are aspirations, various things appear in them that then get a good kicking once the get to a BCR ratio. As for the paths FGW have no say in it, they would dispute it and it would probably be knocked out on abstraction but they don't decide.

Latest West Mid's RUS virtually ends any prospect of further service improvements between Worcs - Gloucs. Only chance is Norton Parkway being
built with connections between cotswold line & cross country services but
don't hold your breath.

The only possible extension of any LM services beyond Worcs is maybe the
occasional service to Evesham if they put a north facing bay in or running thro' to Honeybourne or Stratford-u-avon if they ever reinstate SOA - Honeybourne. Suspect that will only happen if Chiltern get hold of the snow hill lines as they are the only company that seems to have any vision or interest in doing anything.

The Gloucestershire and Warwickshire's Railway's plan are to run to a platform at Honeybourne.

The Cotswold re-doubling has got passive provision in for them to do that, just a case of getting the line up there.
