Where could I find a station departure timetable for Rotherham Masbrough for 1965, 1970 and 1975? Destinations, calling points and platforms.

As an aside, did Rotherham Masbrough station ever have a buffet bar?

Public timetables will give destinations and calling points but not platforms.

Working Timetables don't give platforms either but it might be possible to deduce them from other information.

Rotherham Masborough is unlikely to have had a station working book so your best hope of getting platform numbers would be to find an old station departures poster.

It is important to remember that there were significant timetable changes in 1965 and 1966 associated with the concentration of Sheffield services at Midland station and the closure of the Great Central. Rotherham Central was still open in 1965 but closed in September 1966.

It doesn't appear in lists of station with refreshment facilities.

Assuming Masboro was sensibly numbered, right to left, you could reasonably infer that services to/from Chesterfield used platforms 1 & 2 and services to Sheffield used platforms 3 & 4. You can't cross between the routes south of the station now, but old maps at the National Library of Scotland suggest that you could. Ordinarily you'd group the platforms by route... but this is the railway we're talking about.

The timetable boards put up at stations would normaly show platform numbers in the past. The Midland timetables for 1903 does not list a refreshment room. When Broomhouse tunnel north of Chesterfield was being removed in 1969 and some trains were missing out Sheffield a buffet coach was put in a siding at Rotherham for the use of changing passengers.
