Rosslare Europort Terminal?

Hi everyone,

I am looking for information on the Rosslare Europort building of the late 1980s.
Who was the architect, what where the rquirements given in the tender? It does seem to resemble a ship. I assume that was intended?

I presume that you mean the one they started building in 1987 and moved into at the beginning of 1989. If so, I will have a look through old copies of the Irish Railway Record Society’s Journal to see if it says anything.

I'm not 100% certain on this, but I believe that there was no tender for the design: Rosslare is owned and operated by Iarnród Éireann, which means that it was probably Córas Iompair Éireann who handled everything in-house. That would explain why the terminal was rather overbuilt at the time, as they expected Rosslare to have a substantial increase in foot/coach passenger traffic.
