It did when the class 91's were undergoing refurbishment as part of the Mallard refurbishment program. It hasn't happened since then though, as far as I know.

I'm afraid I don't know my preserved lines that well, so I'm going to put us on a M5000 tramp to Droylsden (It's about 20 - 30 mins walk to Fairfield station)

We've just been on an M5000 so that's an invalid move. T68s/T68A units are banned from the east manchester line so you'll need to use the nearest railway station or move back...

Here's what the rules say.
