Hi all,

I have worked loosely in the Rail sector for the last 2 years and have recently taken on a new job which will involve concentrating solely on the Rail sector.

When I started 2 years back I knew virtually nothing about rail or trains (still dont know much tbh). However, the industry has really crept up and grown on me over the last couple of years .

I am after some advice from people who know far more than me to help me in my new role. Is there anywhere I can access information relating to rolling stock in the UK ? I have the directory books which are published yearly, these are valuable and contain key information. I would like something which pulls everything together such as scheduled refurbs, what the lease type is, vehicle class etc etc.

Anyone got any advise where I can find such information?

Thanks:)

Anoter bit of advise. There appears a number of monthly rail magazines out there. Can anyone recommend which one is best for industry news?

Thanks

Wikipedia does actually have some very interesting information on rolling stock, including operators of the stock, mechanical details and the routes they are used on.
