Spandau Ballet ended up in court over a royalties issues.

A split (apparently engineered by their manager) between Martin Ware and Phil Oakey ended the first (and best) line up of the Human League.

On the Original subject, my favourite band (The Wildhearts) have imploded so many times I've lost count, and mostly when they had just done the best work of their career (at that point in time) and it could be argued, we're on the cusp of success.
They have a new lineup with THE original member and one who was an effective stand in for a few years and two brand new members.
I'm torn on it, they're 'my' band and I want to get to the half century of gigs of theirs (5 to go) but something doesn't sit right with me about it, and yes, I know many many bands have had a clearout and come back and they still get accepted as the band

I heard some members didn’t like the ‘musak’ direction that Dammers was taking the band in. The apparently spilt up off stage after recording Ghost Town on Top of the Pops

There are a lot of bands which keep their difficulties off the stage and away from the public. Most people who've worked live gigs regularly will probably be able to name multiple cases of bands with members who can't share dressing rooms, that have members who have to soundcheck separately, who travel on separate busses or who've had screaming arguments backstage an hour before showtime - but that once they're on stage, doing their job, carry on like they're all best mates. I know of a well known band with two former members who refuse to be in the same building at the same time - that was awkward when they were scheduled for a show with them appearing one after the other. Whenever asked about the other in public though you'd never suspect - they're always cordial about each other, if not complimentary.

Crosby Stills and Nash formed a band and had a very successful debut album. Neil Young was recruited when they were planning a tour and needed another guitarist (Stills knew him well as they were in Buffalo Springfield together).

So NY was there for the follow-up album, also a major seller. But NY was really only doing it to give his solo career a boost. And it worked very well...

Neil Young's song Thrasher (on Rust Never Sleeps) obliquely describes the subsequent deterioration of the relationship.
