What damage did the fire service do (unavoidably, obviously) just out of interest? Usually water damage of course, but structural would certainly be interesting!

I'm sure I read that they chopped straight through the floor.

If it needs a lot rewiring as well, which it seems to reasonable to assume might be the case, that’s a huge amount of work. Is it worth doing?!

Given the cost cutting pressure the railway is currently under, if it wasn't worth doing it wouldn't be done, simple as that.

I passed both coaches heading up the A1 near Wetherby about 14.30 today, assumed both must of been heading to Kilmarnock.

A surprising route - crossing the Pennines twice, presumably using the partially single carriageway A66 to come back west, rather than via the M61 and M6.
