Just received the following;
"It is with deep regret that I am writing to advise you that we have had no option but to close RMT head office on a temporary basis due to reported serious threats to the safety of RMT staff members working there.
The closure was requested by the GMB and NUJ representatives for RMT staff after reports of an escalation of abusive and threatening behaviour by protestors outside our head office.
These protestors - a former employee supported by his friends, some of whom are RMT members and office holders - have been targeting RMT staff over a sustained period using the most appalling intimidation tactics. Images of staff entering Head Office have been posted on social media in a deliberate attempt to incite hatred and abuse.
In the past few days, the situation has escalated with reports of female staff members subjected to disgusting sexist and personal abuse. There has also been an attempt to break into the building with the clear intention of assaulting a member of RMT staff."
