Operation London Bridge protocol suggests the funeral would be in 10 days (a Sunday) although that was if she died in London. Day after a rail strike, and an already stressed transport system.
No announcement yet, obviously, but I'd be surprised if it were a Sunday.

I am sure the Unions would have the due respect to postpone the strikes a few days in the event that they would get in the way of a matter of such national importance.

On her 21st birthday, she said, "Whether my life is long or short, it shall be dedicated for you and to serve you." Who can deny she kept true to her word? She must be, arguably, the greatest monarch in our history.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
God save the King.

Rest in peace your majesty. The most dedicated monarch we’ve ever had.

The RMT have just announced that the strikes on 15th and 17th have been called off.

RIP

I've just got a weird feeling in my stomach at the minute, it feels like an absolute lifetime ago since the energy announcement by Liz Truss and although rehearsed heavily I'm sure just like us the media certainly weren't expecting to be covering this news today

Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II. As Portuguese, this news hurts us as much.
Our prayers go to all of you.

The "immortal" Queen was a humble human after all and will be dearly missed.

Indeed, my BBC News stream was a bit behind, but I got the notification on my phone. She passed away "this afternoon", which I guess means earlier on and the protocol was indeed being followed.

The BBC rather crashed into it the end, with a rough shot of the camera man rushing up to the gate at Buckingham Palace and flashing up a live shot of the flag at half-mast.

For all the preparation, which was surprisingly recognisable, they obviously didn't brief the newsroom staff not to be seen visibly taking pictures on their phones of the announcement in the background... Some one could be seen rushing in to tell them to stop!

She had a good run, sorry to see her era end. RIP.
