Recently watched a Jago Hazard video about a 70s proposal to have Ring Rail which is a forerunner to what we have with the Overground today

A lot of of was bat sh*t such as taxi tracks, but most of the proposals were sound, and it’s pretty much what we have today only the eastern leg of the outer circle is based on the ELL as opposed to what the 70s had in mind with a new rail line from Stratford to Blackheath via a bridge over the Thames to Angerstein Wharf, then onto Blackheath.

Ring Rail: The London Overground, but with monorails and heliports and stuff

With the low level of the land North and South of the river in that area, a tunnel rather than a bridge would be better, I would have thought!
(I speak as a former resident of the Woolwich area and a frequent user of both the SR lines and the North Woolwich branch.)

It was my mistake I think Jago mentioned a tunnel
