Ride Cornwall this coming Saturday

Hi all,

As my current sig would suggest (will hopefully be undertaking a run-around on at least one of the 16th, 17th and 18th as a final fling before the business end of the University year starts), I am planning a big day out this coming weekend, most likely Saturday, to Cornwall for a Ride Cornwall special. There appear to be no engineering works, but we know what the National Rail site is like...! Anyway, I have found a way to manage it from Bath Spa for £26, inclusive of a Ride Cornwall (Railcard discounts do apply, yes?), by splitting at Keynsham (wow... so far...!) and Taunton, and then purchasing the Ride Cornwall ticket at Plymouth. Is it possible to achieve this for less than the quoted £26, without needing to use the bus to Bristol (which would reduce the cost to £23.75), or using AP tickets?

According to the guide in May's TR, the RCD fare for Ride Cornwall is £8.30p.
Seems a good bargain.

It seems to me that Bath is just too far for this to work properly, so I have to try something else. Could someone confirm the validty of the following please?

- Single from Bath Spa to Parson Street, travelling on the 2319 to Exeter St Davids, arr 2356.
- Return from Parson Street to Taunton, because the HST seems to sit there for nearly ten minutes (leaving 0004).
- Return from Taunton to Plymouth, changing at Exeter (arr 0201) for the Night Riviera at 0300.
- Ride Cornwall from there, travelling on the Sleeper to Penzance.

The last one is the bit I'm not sure about (well, that and the Parson Street timings!)...
