He never should have decided to make this second comeback. He lost a very large amount of weight that he had accumulated since his previous fight, in order to reach a boxing weight, but whilst in the earlier rounds, he was leading on the points scorecard, but tiredness and lack of regular ringcraft and fights were becoming more and more obvious as the later rounds progressed with the result that when he was hit with that particular punch, he was just not able to beat the count. I will give him credit for fighting such a high-ranking opponent, who has been a world champion who had only ever lost one fight, but the outcome of this fight will surely convince him to now retire, once and for all.

I understand he was angling for another "World Title Shot" and this would have been his key to entry into that arena.

There are so many World Champions in boxing today the title has become completely devalued in my view.

my views entirely - i understand his desire for "redemption" but he just wasn't ready or perhaps able to get back to the level of fitness required.
