Trying to plan a trip for my partner from Rickmansworth to Reading return on Thursday. The Off Peak Day return @ £21.40 would appear to allow travel on the 0922 Chiltern service to Marylebone and then Bakerloo to Paddington. She would however prefer to travel with a group of friends who hold Freedom passes who plan to travel from Finchley Road at 1005 to Bond Street and Lizzie Line to Reading. Presumably there wouldn't be a problem to take the 0926 Metropolitan to Finchley Road and meet the group and travel with them.

On her return if she were to travel back on her own taking a faster GWR service presumably not a problem to travel via the Bakerloo to Baker Street on onwards to Ricky rather than Bakerloo to Marylebone and Chiltern to Ricky.

I think interavailability route exists per this post, but not sure personally.

Perfectly valid to travel via the Metropolitan Line to Baker Street due to the interavailability between LU/Chiltern

That would be my understanding about the interavailability between LU Baker Street / Chiltern Marylebone. it’s really despite the Maltese Cross whether Jubilee from Finchley Road to Bond Street then Lizzy line is valid.
