Several of us far away are in need of some info.

Is the Richmond Signal Box along the NLL and District line out of use?
When was it's closure date?
Was it ever brought back into service, especially in the last 10 years?

Several driver's eye view DVDs give conflicting info. One says it is "long out of use" (purportedly filmed in 2005). Another says it is still in use (purportedly filmed in 2006!).

At least one photo from 2005 show it derelict w/ graffiti - http://tillyweb.biz/gallery/rr/richmond1.jpg.

So - is there anyone on the spot or in-the-know who can give factual details?

If anyone can provide answers, it is folks on this forum or District Dave's Forum (where I have also posted).
Thanks in advance!

It is indeed in use, and is unlikely in the near future to be dispensed with either. When the NLLrip is completed sometime this year There will only be Three signal boxes in use on the NLL (Liverpool Street IECC, Bollo Lane and Richmond). Two have just gone (Dalston Western Junction & Camden Road). Gospel Oak, Willesden (High Level) & Acton Wells are planned to go in February / March this year but i do not have the actual dates.

313103, almost correct there mate, the resignalled NLL is passing control into upminster IECC (No space in liverpool street for the 3 work stations needed).

upminster will have 3 NLL work stations:

Eastern - Stratford/Temple mills west - Westbourne road jn (new jn near calidonian rd)
Central - Westbourne road jn - kentish town west/primrose hill
these 2 are already commisioned, and as you stated resulted in the closure of Dalston and Camden road, also half of the stratford NLL workstation (the other half of Stratford NLL passed over to the existing brimsdown and Stratford GE workstations in liverpool st IECC last weekend.

The Upminster western workstation will be commisioned during the week of 19th - 26th febuary. this will control from kentish town west/ Junction road jn - Harlesden jn/Acton wells (which is not closing) and Mitre bridge jn / Willesden suburban Jn. This will result in closure of willesden high level and Gospel Oak boxes.

Will leave only the following boxes on the NLL (Including the freight lines)

Kew East, Richmond, Bollo lane, Acton wells, Acton Canal wharf, Neasden jn and Dudding hill. (Upper Holloway and South Tottenham on the T&H line will stay)

Daz
(High level signaller ......not for much londer though)!)
