Whilst travelling north on the WCML last week, I noticed that south of Preston, just before the Ribble bridges on the down side of the railway, there seems to be an area of ex-railway land. looking at this on Google Earth, it appears to be an array of disused sidings.

Does anybody know what this was? Strangely, it appears to have no road access at all, which seems odd.

That would have been North Union Yard / Christian Rd Goods. It shut at some point in the 1990s AFAIK.
