Hi. Does anyone have any info for the above diagram. Seems strange to me.

Nothing unusual really - it (a schedule not a diagram) is effectively just a shunt from the Down platform to the Up platform to form the back working. I suppose the passenger services run to/from Ribblehead instead of just Settle on the basis that, either way, the unit needs to go to Blea Moor to turn back, so it might as well provide an extra service for walkers etc on the way.

Nothing strange about this, if a train needs to change direction (reverse) on a double track line then it needs to use a crossover, there is a crossover at Settle Junction or it has to use the single track across Ribblehead Viaduct and has to go up to Blea Moor for signalling purposes to reverse. This happens twice a day- the 0714 Ribblehead to Leeds runs up to Blea Moor ECS similarly the 1919 Leeds to Ribblehead returns as the 2100 Ribblehead to Leeds. The morning train at one time took the water carriers (full of fresh water) to Blea Moor box as the box is not plumbed into the fresh water supply. Not sure if this still occurs. Incidently the down starter semaphore signal is or has been replced by a LED clour light signal.
