A permanent vacancy has arisen in the operations team of Ribble Rail Ltd. The small team is responsible for moving bitumen oil trains arriving from and departing to the national rail network within the dock site. Ideally, applicants will have operational railway experience along with a highly professional attitude and a proactive and diligent approach to their work.

Read a bit more in to it and the train driver bit is desirable not essential. I think they realise they won't attract qualified drivers on that salary.

There’ll be some fool who thinks they’ll “get their key” then go to LNER inside 2 years no doubt.

It’a a private network, so in reality your driving competency (within their site only) could be given with training to anyone who shows willing.

It is a good little number to gain experience for those all important competency questions.

It’s a nice little railway, just a shame about such a low salary. I’d have been interested if it wasn’t going to be such a pay cut.

Fair point. I didn't actually realise it wouldn't involve driving on the national network.

The salary is a little on the low side, but I suppose they are a small operation.
