Apparently Ken Skates announced yesterday at the Eisteddford at Wrexham that the Rhyl-Wrexham route will join the TrawsCymru network at the end of September. This has been in the planning stage for some time.
Service T51 will replace the exisitng 51/X51 services, with the intention of "improving connectivity between Rhyl, Denbigh, Ruthin and Wrexham"
There will be an hourly service between Ruthin and Wrexham [presently 2-hourly] and an hourly service Rhyl to Wrexham on a Sunday. There is no mention of a through service between Rhyl and Wrexham on weekdays, but presumably that is the intention.
If this is the case, the new service, which will be operated by Arriva, restores the through Rhyl-Wrexham service taken over by Arriva following GHA's demise, which was abandoned with covid and not reinstated.
We await the new timetables.
