RHTT wagon numbering

It seem it is near impossible to see the wagon numbers (642001-050) on these trains due to the grime they produce, Question is, are the two digit side number on the Generator/pump module such as '33' translatable to the wagon number? I know my local RHTT trains in Kent are '31' - '35'.
