Is there a website anywhere that shows where the starting point of a particular rail service was? Easy enough to find out the final destination, but sometimes it's interesting to know where a train that I'm about to join originated from.

(If this should be in the Fares etc. forum I apologise, and could someone kindly move it).

And of course National Rail Enquiries.

To be fair, it isn't quite so straightforward on NRE from what I can recall.

If you join a service part way through, it will show from origin to final destination. (i.e. if you took the Liverpool - Scarborough service from Huddersfield to Leeds, it would say "First TransPennine Express service from Huddersfield to Scarborough")

EDIT: Ignore that - I'm pretty sure it used to, but it now tells you the real origin and destination
