Do you know which working that is?

Not entirely sure which one it is, but PSUL has a few that it may be. The info is from last year so probably has changed, but the one I see is normally during the day around 2pm. Used to see it on a Saturday but can't emember the last time I did.

Pendolinos being turned happens or at least used to happen very regularly having recorded being on one on no less than 8 occasions whilst being turned out of New Street. Happens loads when there is disruption between New Street and Stechford, meaning the service leaves round via Soho and Aston to make its way to Coventry

Dosent really matter as the whole train is standard class but the Arriva TW 158's on the Aberwysth - Birmingham Int route reverse at Shrewsbury

Late running, seen and been on them several times.

Coming into Newcastle, especially if running 30 or more minutes late get sent onto the Gateshead loop around the High Level Bridge and generally into platform 4 rather than going into the bays as normal. I can only presume this is to eliminate the need to cross the down line from the bays on departure. Hence the set is turned.

I certainly agree with you Chris, I can't think of any daily occurances of it happening.

It did however happen alot when Pendos used to be dragged over the S&C- on departure of Preston northbound, FC would end up being at the north end on arrival of Carlisle and Glasgow.

Also on a few southbound runs over the S&C, Pendo's departed Glasgow in reverse formation, in order to make them leave Preston the right way round.

I don't know if it still happens but the first Wolverhampton-Euston would regularly run via Tame Bridge/Aston and reverse at New St. I used to catch it after arriving on the now defunct Holyhead-Birmingham ferry connection. When that train was loco-hauled it would also use this route from Wolverhampton so it could return to Holyhead without the loco having to run around.

The idea was that FC on 185s is at the Piccadilly end, but in reality this is almost possible to adhere to.

Correct, I don't think TPE have a policy of which side First Class is going to be at, especially as the 185s have scheduled reversals (usually on a night-time) at Darlington, Leeds (night services which go via Methley) and a double reversal at Salford Cresent and Man Pic on overnights which divert via Man Vic where the Man Airports usually only have a single reversal at Man Pic through the day. Also the scheduled and unscheduled trips over the High Level Bridge turns them as well. It is really just pot luck which way it comes
