Returning from an intermediate station on Night Riviera

I'm looking at heading to/from Cornwall on the Night Riviera, arriving into Penzance on a Saturday morning, but returning from Truro on the Sunday.

I can see that a regular Super Off-Peak return to Penzance is £99 with a railcard, but a single to Penzance and a single from Truro is £57 each (ignoring the cabin supplements for now), but from what I can see, you can only book the cabin supplement at the same time as booking the regular ticket, so the only way would be to book a return to/from Penzance.

So the question is, if I booked a Super Off-Peak return with cabin supplements to/from Penzance, would I be allowed to board the return at Truro? If not, is there a way of booking the cabin supplement separate from the return ticket to get a cabin from Truro, or am I flat out of luck and just need to get two singles?

You can book the supplement separately from your ticket - that's how anyone who isn't using a straightforward single/return has to do it (for example those on Interrail/Eurail/Britrail passes, All Line Rovers, staff travel facilities etc.).

You have to either call GWR telesales or go to a ticket office to do so.

Thanks for the tip, phoned up Telesales who were very helpful and happily issued the Super off peak return, with cabin supplements for London->Penzance and Truro->London, looking forward to my trip now!

People on Interrail/Eurail/Britrail passes generally just don't use the Night Riviera at all because calling an international number that may or may not be able to book it or accept a foreign payment card is more than enough to put them off.

I have done that exact thing! Though it was for a Croatian sleeper train, not the Night Riviera.
