Return Zone 6 to Wivelsfield

I need to get to and from Wivelsfield tonight. I am covered for Zones 1-6 so I presume my cheapest ticket option would be a return from Coulsdon South?

Ah, I didn't think you could get boundary tickets other than from a ticket office....

Indeed it does not seem possible to enter 'boundary zone 6' into origin box. UI thinks box is empty.

Does this mean I have to be on a train which stops at CDS? Because I'm coming from Farringdon and the Wivelsfield train goes down the quarry lines of course.

Figured out how to do it on the forum site by selecting to allow cross London travel on Oyster. Same saving. Cheers!

The forum's site won't offer Boundary Zone tickets for trains that run through the boundary station non-stop (I'm not sure why, as it's permitted). You'd have to select a stopper via Redhill for it to come up.

Avanti's site will offer you it if you enter Boundary Zone 6:

No, you don't need to stop at the station where you change between your Travelcard and your onward ticket. This is because one of your tickets is zonal (the Travelcard), so condition 14.3 of the National Rail Conditions of Travel applies:

if you are using a Season Ticket, daily Zonal Ticket, or another area based Ticket such as a concessionary pass, ranger, or rover, in conjunction with another Ticket and the last station at which one Ticket is valid and the first station that the other Ticket is valid are the same, then the train does not need to Call at that station for your combination to be valid.

However, if you split at Gatwick then you do have to stop at Gatwick. You can still take a train that runs via the Quarry Lines since the first split involves the Travelcard (which is zonal) - however for the second split you have to stop at Gatwick, since neither of the two onward split tickets (BZ6-GTW or GTW-WVF) are zonal. Of course all Thameslink trains stop at Gatwick so it's not an issue in practice.

Is the 1733 weekdays (Southern) train from London Bridge to Littlehampton the only one that calls Southbound at Wivelsfield (arr. 1820) that hasn't also called at Gatwick Airport on its way?
