Not a massive shock that they became insolvent then really is it.

They over expanded too quickly and had the burden of the leases to pay on the Embraers.

Had quite a lengthy existence prior to that going back over the years in one guise or another - Jersey European et al .

They also couldn't sell many of their seats at a premium. Those low Flybe-style prices on regional domestics aren't ever coming back with the whittling away of business travel.

In their later years they weren't all that low anyway, and certainly weren't competitive with the train on some clothes in particular. And I know this is not the place but I would disagree that business travel has gone forever, from what I've observed in recent times it is returning slowly but steadily. The new incarnation, which I am still determined to only use if I really really have to and there is no alternative needs to make itself competitive with long-distance Rail travel, charging maybe the same price as a a pair of first class advances or a couple of standard class ones with a seat frog or weekend first upgrade and sell the service on convenience a journey time, I mean I for one would far rather spend an hour on an aircraft than 9 hours on a train to fly to somewhere like Exeter or Newquay

They never went away at least on Easyjet between EDI and BHX - still possible to find mid twenties to early thirties fares

In all honesty, whilst Logan air might not have the newest fleet or the lowest fares, you are at least guaranteed some quality of service. In the later years I found that Flybe fairs were creeping up to a level where I was unprepared to pay them for the somewhat questionable service which came as standard. When you pay a cheap super budget Ryanair fare you sort of know that crap service is going to be included as part of the deal, when you're playing a substantially inflated Flybe fair you do expect at least a degree of service to match the price which is what I feel loganair are capable of giving you

Well when they went belly up in 2020 I had to chargeback around 6 trips or 12 flights all UK Domestic.

Average fare was £25 - £30 !!

Loganair also have some rather new ATR72s that are very pleasant to fly on, much more so than the Q400s Flybe operate(d) in my opinion.

Pilot friend ( ex-Flybe, now Flybe) is sending pics of multiple Q400s, so I guess some sort of service will be resuming in the not too distant future.
