I've got a return portion of an Off-Peak Return from Belper to Market Harborough.

Due to change of plans I now want to travel today and substitute buses seem to be running from Derby.

If I depart from Alfreton, can I pay the difference between the two ticket prices or should I buy a single Alfreton - Nottingham? (BLP-MHR is valid through Nottingham anyway)

I did try phoning NRES, and they suggested I should go from Alfreton to Belper and continue from there. Which is very obviously not what I want to do

If the normal route is replaced by buses they should let you use reasonable routes at no extra charge.

You can't excess a ticket from Belper to be from Alfreton (well, it can be done as almost anything can be done with excesses but it's not meant to be done if that makes sense!) as they are on different routes. The SVR fare is £15.30 from Belper. However I belive you can excess it to be from Chesterfield which is on both routes, and you are then free to go either route. This costs £21.40 and therefore half the difference is £3.05
