I've heard a rumour that it's supposed to be a pair of twenty's but don't hold me to it.

We have successfully operated a wide variety of tours for enthusiasts and daytrippers, all from Huddersfield and the surrounding area to various destinations including Edinburgh, Bath & Bristol and Carlisle, The Lake District, Oxford, Southend and Stirling since 2008.

We hope to announce details of our next tour shortly. We are aiming to go to Cardiff on Saturday 24 November. Please return in a few days' time for more information.

Information will be posted here when it is available

Now not happening:

Unfortunately due to factors beyond our control we cannot run our proposed trip to Cardiff on Saturday 24th November. We have been informed that our train operator, Direct Rail Services, are unable to provide train crew on this date. Due to on-going Industrial Relations issues at DB Schenker, they are also unable to provide drivers on the 24th.

Any gen on what the traction was going to be?

We were planning to use DRS 20s, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Sometimes these things happen; Autumn/ Winter tours are often a challenge due to RHTT commitments, this year those challenges have been compounded by other factors. We'll be announcing our 2013 tours in the next couple of months- I expect to see you all on-board!

I look forward to the 2013 tour list, unless DRS & DB Schenker again put a spanner in the works. This does nothing for public morale.

Although not an ideal situation, it's far better that the TOC advised they were unable to resource the train at this stage, ie before it was finalised and open for bookings, than a few days beforehand which has been the case on more than one occasion recently.
