Retford OHL disruption

I see there are problems on the EC line again.

I have a ticket for the 19.05 Leeds to KX.

They are saying I can use EMT Sheffield to St P.

How long would this arrangement stand as I am trying to plan my day which will involve being driven from Manchester at 5pm to my train.

Can I rock up to any EMT train and could I still upgrade to First Class?

I suggest asking East Coast, but the arrangement will certainly stand until the problem is cleared. If you are asking how long will it stand after it is cleared, then I guess there will be a reasonable time period when people may not know it has been cleared, but when you get to Leeds, station staff can advise you on which route to take.

I do not know the ticket type you hold, but a walk-up ticket would be valid via Sheffield anyway so I guess it's an Advance, so you should ask permission to 'start short' at the same time that you enquire about the routeing, if that's what you want to do.

The problem I have is that I am going to the football and my lift can take me to Sheffield directly from Manchester, in fact it would be preferable for them.

Difficult to get all the info at 5pm outside a ground, it would be nice to be able to plan.

Damaged section insulator.

Electric trains are coasting through the damaged section, for up trains it's only half a mile. Electrics are not calling at Newark, but Hull and GC are helping out.

EC PPM pretty sick at present.

£25 upgrade, Virgin was £15 on Friday, quite a difference.

Was on GC going up for Sunderland-Man U this morning, at one point thought we were going to miss kick-off as it was a 12.45 tv game, we were forty five down at York after the additional stop at Newark but made up time and got into Sunderland at 12.20. in time to make it into the ground before kick-off.

I saw the 8.00am East Coast was cancelled and there seemed to be some confusion about whether GC were accepting EC tickets or whether they were meant to wait for the 8.30-I heard several people with EC tickets being spoken to by the train manager.

Jumped the 15.29 back instead of waiting for the 17.29 that I usually get, additional stop at Newark again and back to Kings X approximately six down at just after 19.00.

Yes I was extremely nervous about switching TOC's so was glad to get on my original train.

Still at least your fascist new manager will be able to get his train to run on time, you will just need to make sure you are on it

LOL! Been following Sunderland for forty years now (I was six when we beat Leeds and went to my first game in '76) and believe me I have no idea what the board are playing at.
