Is that more than the TOCs are doing in England, given there was an announcement about wanting TOCs to restore their full service? I'm not saying the announcement was realistic mind.

Do restrictions apply on the use of public transport in Wales? Are leisure journeys allowed or not?

"Similarly" basically says it! :) They want as little talking as possible (as that causes droplets to get out) and masks to stay on as much as possible. Seems pretty sensible and it would be good if other TOCs pushed for the same. The London Overground seems at times to be 50% occupied by...

Please be assured that the level of service operated is instructed by Transport for Wales to Transport for Wales Rail Services as per their contract.

Last week I emailed TPE to enquire what timetable changes they would be making in September, and when said timetables would be available to download. Their response (received today) was:

I can confirm TransPennine Express are running a reduced timetable until further notice, due to the current circumstances surrounding the Covid 19 outbreak.

Therefore, there have been no further updates on the timetable change due in September at this present time.

I've written back asking for clarification. Does this mean they are definitely not making any changes in September and the existing timetables continue to apply, or does it mean that there might /will be changes but they just aren't letting us know yet?

I think we should be told!

The TPE timetable page has just been updated today, from what I can see. Glad it's been done though at last.

In terms of resumption of a full timetable, I got an email from EMR earlier:

We will be introducing a significant uplift in our current timetable, allowing us to deliver 97% of the services we had in place before the Coronavirus pandemic. In line with Government guidance, including the reopening of schools and an expected increase in the number of passengers, we are doing everything we can to help more people travel safely and responsibly.

What's changed?

We will be reinstating our complete Intercity Midland Main Line service, which runs from Sheffield to London St Pancras. This includes the reintroduction of our direct services between Corby and London, providing an additional 33 trains per day between the East Midlands and London.

Alongside this significant increase in train services, we are determined to maintain the excellent punctuality delivered in recent months and support the cities, towns and communities we serve to get back to normal.

On checking times for GWR I get a message saying the timetable has not been confirmed beyond the 5th September.

I am on holiday in the South West for a week commencing on the 7th September. I was thinking of using the train to get about but am unable to plan my days out with less than two weeks to go.

I may end up hiring a car instead. Not ideal but they're not making it easy to use the trains.

It’s all in Real-time trains, except for amendments due to engineering work sbeyond about 3/4 week’s out.

I just bought some Advances for the mother-in-law to go to Cornwall from Paddington for October half-term, so there must be some certainty in the timetable?

According to GWR Twitter posts people have been able to buy tickets in advance and then find the train is not running. The advice is to check again nearer the day.

Bucks seems to be resuming full bus timetables in line with the schools reopening.
