Restored Stations Into Other Uses

A few concerning stations which are still open for passengers:

Darsham - Youth centre in the station buildings
Hever - Quite smart office accommodation for what I believe is an IT business of some sort
Box Hill & Westhumble - Locally well-known cycle shop/hire and café
Wandsworth Common - Some buildings still used for staff, others for a very small art gallery and a taxi company
Eridge - Not just a National Rail and preserved railway (Spa Valley Railway) station, but also a model railway club facility and the host of local farmers' produce events!
St Pancras - Shopping arcade. Um.
Glenfinnan - Museum about "Concrete Bob" McAlpine, often used as a break of journey on steam excursions, and also free of charge for those who stay in the camping coaches
Mallaig - Basically half station, half chippy (and a fantastic one at that)

 

[Harbornite]

Coalport (West) station is now in residential use, but the owners have installed two BR Mark 1 coaches on the tracked for use as self catering accommodation.

 

[Calthrop]

A recent visit to those parts, revealed station buildings of the 3ft gauge Clogher Valley Railway (abandoned 1941) still in existence, and made over into various uses. Namely, at Augher, a cafe; at Fivemiletown, a private dwelling; and Brookeborough's former station building now serves for the local area, various community-centre-type functions. Brookeborough also has preserved, a few feet of track, a rail goods van, and the level-crossing gates by the station.

The former Great Northern Railway station in Rippingale was built in 1872 and closed in the 1960s.

 

[Strathclyder]

Clydebank Riverside - opened in October 1896 as Clydebank, renamed Clydebank Riverside in 1953 & closed in October 1964. The main station building (designed by John James Burnet) remained derelict for some time before being restored and converted into housing.

Frodsham Station was locked up and looking very sorry. It was completely restored which was so nice to see. I thought it was sad that as a passenger It wasn't actually available to use, however at least the building isn't rotting anymore, now houses a pet shop, hair dressers, and a kitchen design business.

Helsby Station building has a business there, and Cuddington has a picture framers.

Lythamstation building on the the Blackpool South line is now quite a nice pub. Platform still open.

Richmond in North Yorkshire. Been turned into a lovely restaurant and cinema..

Windermere - now a Booths supermarket
Lancaster Green Ayre shed - incorporated into a Sainsburys supermarket, but hard to work out
Sudbury (Suffolk) from memory also a supermarket
Halton (Little North Western) now a storage shed for the University rowing team
Caton (Little North Western) as far as I can tell part of this is now the Catholic church
Melling, Arkholme & Borwick (Furness & Midland) all three private houses
Kirkby Lonsdale (Ingleton branch) a couple of years ago was being used as an educational / fun pottery for kids. Not sure if it still is.
Ingleton (the Midland end of the bridge) - Village hall / Civic Centre / public toilets

As current owner of Penmaenmawr Station House since 2013, I can update that the property is 3 bed residential on the first floor and vacant A1 commercial space on the ground floor. Fully renovated, the property is up for auction 18th May 2017.
