No, certainly not aimed at you, sorry if I gave that impression. I was referring to the people who seem to continually wander up and down the train vainly looking for an empty seat that doesn't have a label on it! :D

I had one of those moments yesterday. Boarded a Penzance - Pad at Plymouth, coach A relatively busy, I see this empty table of 4 with 4 labels on it and close in on my target as everyone walks past thinking 'oh they're reserved'

Turns out they all were reserved. From Penzance, 2x Par and Bodmin = 4 no-shows. AdamW enjoys table of 4 to himself whilst everyone looks on wondering how jammy he must have been to manage that or whether he's inconsiderate for not paying attention to the reservations.

Either way, the longer people don't wise up to how you can sit in unclaimed seats, the longer I can be a jammy so and so and get a table of 4 to myself ;)

Yes, that's the sort of thing! Happens to me a lot when I am going from Llanelli to Cardiff; people walk straight past the seats with labels, and one glance shows me that the first seat I come across is reserved from Shrewsbury, or Abergavenny, or somewhere way after I am going to get off!

The problem I have with checking reservation tickets is that quite often people behind me will whinge / tut at me being slower to walk through the carriage. So if the train is especially busy and I am not going to be on the train for that long then I won't bother and will just stand.
