Wonder what they did about the return workings - they only appear to have a cab at 1 end!

bedford/cricklewood/smithfields sidings/b-friars/selhurst/preston park, moorgate weekends mainly and occasionally gatwick a-port sidings
ill hava a butchers for you.

Smithfields is only used to turn trains back at City. South Eastern berth a 8 car 465 to form the 17:07 service to Sevenoaks.

By Preston Park I assume you mean Lovers Walk?

As for Gatwick well the only things I have ever seen use Gatwick Sidings are 165's and stored 400's plus the very rare 377. There used to be one train a day which used to turn at Gatwick but now nothing does and it would take a catastropic problem before FCC will use Gatwick for turnbacks.

Moorgate is used 7 days a week and its also where the 8 car 317 sits all day before forming an up train around 4 in the afternoon.

Funny if the Conservatives hated the railways how the period pre-97 resulted in the construction of almost all 2nd generation light rail & tram systems & the biggest number of new stations opened or reopened since the Second World War.

The Tories are the reason the railways is on its knees and British industry is virtually a non entertity. The biggest crime is that the pale pink Labour party never went with its word and renationalised the railways when they came to power.

An FCC train??

As I said SE berth an 8 car in there Monday-Fridays. Over the weekend Smithfields is usually empty.

Smithfields is used for turnbacks and to dump dead units but not seen anything booked.

Only for failed trains and during possessions although its still fairly rare. 8 car may have been in Gatwick due to the blockade on the Brighton Mainline over the weekend.

The 317 has quite often stayed in Moorgate, especially during service disruption. Seen it many, many times going to Hertford House sitting there at lunch time.

The booked berthing points for day to day stuff are Bedford Carriage Sidings (SU301, SU302, 307, 309, 311-315, 318, 322-328, 331, 332, 401, 402, 404, 405, 407-412, 414-417, 420, 421, 423-425, 428 ), Cauldwell Depot (SU302, 313, 316, 317, 330, 401, 402, 417, 422, 427, 430, 431, 433), Cricklewood Depot (SU303-306, 310, 319, 320, 323, 324, 406, 413, 418, 419, 432, 434), Blackfriars (SU308, 329, 436), Selhurst (SU321), Brighton (SU403, 416, 422, 429), Preston Park (SU432, 434, 435) Moorgate (SU412)

Hail again! <D
aah - I know they [150's] are popular with drivers - but not passengers or enthusiasts. <D
Well...Ye do know that ye are chatting to another Sprinter fan right here..And nay, this one isn't a driver!
(Although if I could get a job driving Sprinters, I wouldn't turn it down... <D)

Incidentally, I wonder how fast ye could get a 159 going if ye disabled her restrictor and anything that would prevent down-Shap coasting?... ;)

Oh...And what's that in thy signature?... :lol::lol::lol:

Farewell... <D
