Hello everyone!
Following my graduation in Design, I'm starting a plan of reinvestment on old hardware that I have. Already upgraded my PC to 85% of its potential.

Currently I'm investing in a new DSLR, having recently sold my Nikon D5000.

I'm between the Nikon D5600 and the Nikon D7500. Both have their perks but I've been inclined to the D7500, but the price tag is almost twice the one for the D5600.

I'm mainly focusing on these characteristics:
Video shooting at 1080p 60FPS, with RØDE Stereo VideoMic Pro-Rycote;
Photography and Video for Design and Marketing. Specialy for WIPs and final products;
Obviously I'll do the same for Trainspotting and other random stuff.
Still keeping an AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G (Could only use it in manual on the D5000)

What do you think? Should I go for the D5600, or the D7500?

IMO the D7500 is about £300 over priced for what you get

I'd suggest looking at the D7200, more megapixels* than the D7500, similar control layout, 2 x SD card slots and around £400-£500 cheaper new.

Have a look at this for more info https://photographylife.com/nikon-d7500-vs-d7200

I wouldn't bother with the D5600, as you get more experienced you'll quickly find the D5600's limitations and want something more advanced.

*I know megapixel count isn't everything, but it does give you more room to crop.

Good evening.

I decided to go for the D7500 instead. Once I've learned that I could get some use of the auto focus that my AF Zoom-Nikkor 70-300 had, I just couldn't turn back.

That and the fact that I can switch to 4K whenever it justifies, it's a good thing for a later revalue of the camera.

I have to say, after today's first experience on the rails, I'm very, VERY satisfied with the pair of the Nikon D7500 and the Rode Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote (Damn long name it has...)

I still need to adjust some details here and there, and I still need to test the camera in photography, but the small experiments I already had completely blew my experience with the old D5000. 8 years of development really add up to something incredible!

Here's a video with today's test footage. Enjoy!
