If the 321s are painted then that clearly explains why they don't have the graduation! That would be some paint job!!

Thanks for the info!

Update: Got a 321 to work and you're right they are painted - and I saw that there's a strip of vinyl all along the bottom 2/5ths (Approx) of the train - which could, in theory, have been graduated if FCC had so wished. It's level along the whole train - with the paint only visible from the base of the window to the top.

Or so I thought, as it was an 8-car set and on the second set, the vinyl actually went up to about 1/3 of the window up - then all along the entire train - so the painted part is smaller still.

The colour matching is pretty impressive though, and it's only close up you can see that they're slightly different colours.

"Class 466" notes that 150121 is repainted into FGW.

Yes it is, 150123 is being done at the moment, 127 was the first done.

Video I took of 127 in Jan in the new livery, it is one of the few given an intermediate refurb inside too!

Is that the FGW158s that are having the tables re-instated on the back of the seats, if so it is excellent news because it is pointless offering on board refreshments if you haven't got anywhere to put the cup!

Very true! FGW have been talking about refitting the seatback tables for a very long while, but with no sign of any progress. Baby change facilities have also been absent for well over a year now. Though there have been recent rumbles about a raft of further modifications including the tables, so watch this space. Interesting how some cars received updated seating - second hand from ScotRail apparently - and others just had the originals recovered in new moquette, all in all a bit of a hash job you might say!

On a different note, 150123 seen parked freshly painted outside Pullman at Canton this week. Not sure what the situation is with the interior, as 121/127 had the internal refresh done separately (beforehand, bizarrely). The 150/1s painted so far are minus the 'Local Lines' placename vinyls, with just FGW branding on plain blue with pink doors, also minus the wrap-around yellow ends. Look nice actually :)

thejunction.co.uk notes 150131 at Cardiff for repaint into FGW.

A photo by AlanP on flickr shows 321405 in FCC livery [dated 14 Feb 2011] at Rossington.

From thejunction.org:

"Not previously noted here is the repaint of 150128 into FGW livery from Silverlink, observed in service at Bristol Temple Meads on 9th March".

I believe that 150120 is still in Silverlink, [with 150130].

How long does it take to repaint a 150 as on the 4th March I saw 150128 at Cardiff still in Silverlink.

Sort of on the subject, does anyone know when the TPE maroon livery for 158s became extinct and when the CT 158 livery became extinct?

Thanks for the clarification. Can't believe everything printed!

150131 has just left Stroud on the shuttles in new livery/interior, 150120 & 150128 are still to be done as iv seen them in silverlink in the last 2 days. 150121/3/7/9 also refurbed. Not sure if 130 has been attacked yet, not seen it for quite a while.

Was going to ask about this. I must have come across a mistaken post because I thought all were already done! So that's 407 treated too then

FCC 321410 now in FCC livery.

Of the 13 at FCC, only 321420 remains in Silverlink livery

Just to add a caveat to that, although 321419 is in noted as FCC livery it has not been painted at Doncaster like the others in the fleet. 321405 & 321419 were both vinyled at Wolverton shortly before Christmas - infact the picture you cite on the previous page is of 405 in it original vinyls.

Since that photo 405 has been to Wabtec and been properly painted as part of it overhaul. Presumably 321419 will follow suit.

EDITED TO ADD: After all that I've just checked some notes and it appears 321419 has indeed followed suit and is at Wabtec now!

I think 321 420 has actually been in FCC livery since around December. It definitely is currently sporting the new livery.

Hi I presume the final 142 is still kicking about in Gold Star livery and the final 150/1 is still in Silverlink livery? If not will these be released shortly.

According to thejunction two LM 153s moving to FGW

153 325 & 333 are both now operating with FGW, initially in the far west but also recently in the Bristol area on Taunton/Weston Super Mare - Bristol Parkway/Cardiff Central runs. This brings the daily 'foreign' livery total up to 3, with Arriva/SWT/London Midland. Was almost 4, had the last 150/1 still been in Overground/Silverlink colours!

Mildly interesting trivia is that the LM 153s have a PIS (Passenger Information System) installed, with an internal display screen in the centre of each car. This isn't used when in FGW service, and the screens appear to have been set to read simply 'Class 153' - a rare bit of anorak info for the travelling public! :D

North Wales Coast Railway forum suggests that 158827 is number 5 in the refurbishment program, so will lose the silver livery and come out in the "WAG" livery.

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

A few reports note that Northern 142001/029 have lost their Northern Star livery in preparation for return from FGW.
