The Crossing Social Club adjacent Carlton station notts had origins in a railway social club but on line info suggests it may have closed. Its wasn't that long ago I went to a well organised and interesting exhibition about Colwick depot and yards there

From 2023
https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2023/0...epot-to-celebrate-history-of-netherfield.html

Enthusiasts from the Nottingham Model Railway Society are to recreate a scale model of the Colwick Locomotive Depot as part of an event celebrating the heritage of Netherfield.

The model is to be over 4 foot long and will include key details about how the depot looked.

The ‘Loco Remembered’ event celebrating the history of Netherfield will be held at the Crossing Social Club on Station Road, Netherfield on Saturday, March 4th.

Also The Wyvern Club adjacent Kirkby station in Notts was one I recall going for a pint in on a busy Sunday afternoon not that long ago, but seems to have recently closed and been demolished. Think this was BRSA or LMR staff association (LMRCA? is that the same thing)

Can't copy text from that kink but another report says:

Article from 2024
A planning application has been submitted by Ashfield District Council to demolish The Wyvern Club on Urban Road, near the town’s train station.
It was built by British Rail in 1961 for railway workers but was bought by the council last year.
and explains that it was the council's intention to demolish it

Interesting that these clubs survived for so long given the locations where they were would once have been close to large sources of railway staff employment but not in recent years (event with a generous interpretation of recent I suspect).

Looks like there was a similar forum thread in 2017 so comparisons of info could be made....

At Port Talbot Parkway there's the G.W.R.S.A Railway Club. I'm not sure of its actual status as a Social Club though?

In Southend The Ambleside Club was an old BRSA club. It got lucky when they redeveloped some railway land between Southend East and Southend Central in the early eighties and got a new clubhouse out of it.

As mentioned in the BRSA thread, referenced above, Grantham Railway Club is still going and thriving. It is part of the Association of Independent Clubs, along with March, Skegness, Newark, to name but a few.

Beyond rail privatisation clubs ceased to receive funding from BR. However, the amount of venues still open is pleasing, despite the difficulties faced by the pub/club trade.

LMRCA Railway Club Altrincham, alongside Navigation Road tram stop/railway station, seems to be active still.

There used to be two in Rugby, if my memory serves me right, one near the Midland (still open) station and one near the old Central station on the disused GCR line.

I'm sure a colleague told me recently the club that's still open is the old Great Central one.

Yes it’s by the old GC station
