I would assume they are still applicable this week - on the day you can check formations on "Tiger Rail".

From journey check yesterday

09:45 London Paddington to Swansea due 12:42
Facilities on the 09:45 London Paddington to Swansea due 12:42.
This is due to a fault on this train.
Will be formed of 5 coaches instead of 9.

13:29 Swansea to London Paddington due 16:32

Will be formed of 5 coaches instead of 9.

So I believe it is booked an 800/3

In fact it was 800013 and was amongst a number of short formed or cancelled services to South Wales yesterday morning.

On weekdays I think the only hsts to Swansea now are three in at night, 1615, 1814 & 2115 from Paddington returning the next morning with 0529, 0559 & 0659 from Swansea.

Over the last couple of weeks the 16:15 has been a 800/3 numourus times so might have swapped to IET.

I think it was 800/3 but it has reverted to hst this week. It seems to be related to the introduction of 802s on the 1633 Exeter which come ECS from North Pole. Last week the 1633 was formed by the hst off the 1209 Hereford - Paddington but this week that hst is working the 1615 to Swansea instead.

During the transition there have been several trains that have gone over to IET and then for a period reverted to hst, and at a later date gone back again. Some Cotswold trains went over to IET for several months (admittedly not always running) before reverting to hst in May and have been since - the 0921 and 1522 spring to mind. I find it difficult to keep track of the changes, especially when for many weeks significant engineering work line closures completely change the picture.

Definately an IET unfortunately...

Um, looks like I'll have a busy Autumn updating this thread.
If you're looking to bash the GWR HSTs then I strongly suggest you do it ASAP, especially now the 802s have been introduced

A look in RealTimeTrains suggests that, effective 03rd September, including on Saturdays, it seems that the following will join the IET club: 1A35 is booked IET all the way through October too so I guess this is now permanent:

5A77 Penzance T&RSMD - Penzance
1A77 0541 Penzance - London Paddington, via. Westbury
1C80 1203 London Paddington - Penzance, via. Westbury
1A35 1742 Penzance - London Paddington, via. Bristol Temple Meads
5A35 London Paddington - North Pole IEP Depot

Going by RTT it seems that the return diagram to provide the 5A77 for the following day will be:

5C71 0606 North Pole IEP Depot - London Paddington
1C71 0635 London Paddington - Penzance (not calling Westbury)
1A88 1204 Penzance - London Paddington (not calling Westbury)
1C92 1803 London Paddington - Penzance (not calling Westbury)
5C92 2330 Penzance - Penzance T&RSMD

You seem to be posting the same thing on two threads but this should be noted:=-

And for those of you that haven’t followed that link, RTT is not your way to find out the next introduction dates. 24th September is when those diagrams cut over, not 3rd September.

It is all to do with how GWR upload their LTP plans in block dates. They are modified to the correct date by the STP team but such is their workload at the moment the result is the uploads have got out of synch.

The original date for these diagrams was the 20th August. It was then put back to the 10th September and is now the 24th September. Delayed unit deliveries for GWR acceptance is the main reason - the projected dates for units being offered to GWR keep going back. In fact Hitachi have been running out of room in the UK for acceptance work and 802 units have been laying over in Munich whilst en route to the UK.

This was an 800 this morning. It was a 5 car but I think it should have been a 9.

The diagrams were a bit all over the place today due to the bank holiday. None of the xx15 Paddington - Cardiff ran so the sets that normally would have worked these trains would have done something else instead and that change then rippling out across the day. It was a bit of a double edged sword because a few of those Cardiff trains this morning would have helped to clear Reading of festival goers, but their absence meant that nearly everything was 9-car or 10-car. The Cheltenham you mention was one that wasn't and so to 1L34 0729 Swansea - Paddington with 800003.

If I come across as a rookie, sorry, but RTT displays it’s a Stoke Gifford ender on the 03/09, and on the 02/09 it’s a Philips Marsh. Is this just the planned or would it have not reverted?

Thank you cactustwirly for maintaining this list.

Can I ask if this Saturday's 1A31 1930 BRI - PAD will be and HST or an IET please? Can't see it mentioned in this thread or jimm's IET diagrams thread, so I thought I'd check.

Planning on doing 1W01 on Fri and 1B01 and 1L90 on Sat (the latter as far as Newport), which I'm almost certain are HSTs.

Thank you both, much appreciated. 1L90 via Bristol Parkway it is, then.

And welcome to the forum Mark!

1L14 0529 Swansea - London Paddington was a HST yesterday morning, may be covering an IET diagram. 1L20 0559 and 1L32 0659 departures from Swansea to London Paddington also HSTs as booked. This meant that three HSTs were all lined up at Swansea yesterday morning, something that is now very rare.

Welcome to the Forum but I hope you don't mind me asking if you have a Shift Key for Capital letters on your keyboard ? I spent a few minutes trying to decode your earlier post

What are 015&022 supposed to mean
If 1b01 is supposed to be the headcode, it should be 1B01 with nothing immediately either side of it. I'm afraid the way you have set things out it makes it difficult to understand even if you understand it yourself. You have just jumbled everything up.

I would have thought it was pretty obvious that it was a pair of power cars - 43015 and 43022 if you still haven’t got it.

How about you stop back seat moderating?

I'm glad that you were able to decipher them.

1203 Royal Duchy Paddington - Penzance was an HST on Friday. Had the delights of.....

No air con in two of the coaches (one of which I was in - lost half a stone)
No food after Reading (sold out)
No hot drinks (boiler failure)
No Pullman service

Felt for the staff who were great tbf - brought round bottles of water and tried to keep a smile on their faces. Train Manager possibly shouldn't have told everyone she had been reporting the air con as faulty for months though. Announced that it was due to to new train deliveries being delayed that one of "the old trains" was running the route, and apologised to people reserved in coach J (?) as there wasn't one due to the reservations being based on an 800/802 (?) formation.

It did feel like the set was a little unloved, and the service was rammed.

Came back on the 1132 Paignton - Paddington today and all was well - HST

03/09 (today):

17:42 Cheltenham Spa
IET 5 car.

The only planned 03/09 diagram change that went ahead. Was supposed to be a nine car unit however.
