Does anyone please know if the final day for the HSTs has been confirmed? I see there’s no EMR service from Leeds next Sunday nor the Sunday after (apart from ECS moves to Sheffield)

I believe today’s workings were the final Sunday diagrams.

Looking at movements to and from Neville Hill Depot it looks like there may be some Sheffield to London St Pancras on Sunday 9th May run as HST's but none from Leeds. For example the following service is preceded shortly before by ECS movement from Neville Hill.

And if it actually means anything they are both meant to stop at platform 6 at Sheffield suggesting one makes up the other but I am aware this could just be a mistake, or coincidence.

Ah I see.

Sadly there'll be folk for whom a 'ban' makes them even more determined to do it...

Today the tone of the announcement was more measured (no mention of cancelling the train, just a clear statement not to use windows due to dangers that could result and at least while I was on it no sign of any foolish behavior). Perhaps just down to the way in which staff handle what they have to do and say of course, and indeed fully understand that staff will need to use discretion over what they think they need to say given circs on any particular trip / time.
Good run south through Toton this afternoon.

Yes, I think that would be correct to presume, no EMR HSTs this bank hol weekend. Weekdays (not monday 3rd May) more likely. Afternoon services cheaper fares esp if walk up fares required as a safeguard against short notice cancellations.

EMR is 'do your own social distancing on board' as you probably know - ie no seat reservations to allocated seats. Not too difficult to find a decent seat and occupy it, and simple if you get on at an originating station for the service in good time.

Only on board catering is weekday 1st class 'goodie bag' of crisps/biscuit type of thing which I understand has now re-started again, and a free tea or coffee and bottle of water IIRC. No on board catering in Standard Class.
