January 18 saw the closure of the existing Claydon LNE junction signal box on the Oxford= Bletchley line . This was as most of you know the last working signal box on this line and was used until recently to enable bin liner trains from the Oxford direction to run round and then proceed down the former wartime spur to Calvert it also housed the key token machine for trains from the Aylesbury direction. All points and signals were taken of use and most of the war time spur also. Clearing the way for the East to West line reopening. A new signal box with the same name was opened on Monday ( 27 ) near Quainton Road which houses the token machine . The line between Aylesbury Vale and Calvert is now a dead end branch line.

No doubt you meant to and probably did type CALVERT but appear to have been stitched up by autocorrect! :D

Thankfully I managed to do that curve on a rail tour last year.
