Reliability of Class 378

As I use the ELL to commute to Croydon, I have noticed in the recent weeks that trains on the Croydon services has been cancelled during peak hours.
Could this be related to the high utilisation rate of the class 378, or am I just really unlucky that West Croydon train is the first one to be cancelled in the event of disruption?

You choose a bad day to eulogise the class and this particular sphere of their operations: there were several cancellations on the North London Line this morning, with Richmond seeing adjacent 378s on platforms 3, 4 & 5 at one point. Agree on the general punctuality, however.

There are many possible reasons for service cancellations that have nothing to do with the rolling stock. NRES says re the NLL that there were signalling problems at Richmond and a unit failure at Willesden. It’s unwise to assume it’s a class reliability issue.

Yeah of course i meant it as a joke i put a laughing emoji at the end but it didn’t show up i myself know from what i have seen of of them and i have used them intensively since there introduction there reliability is usually very good.

Punctuality is about average for inner suburban (excluding the West Anglia routes which are a bit worse due to decrepit 317s and more common NR infrastructure problems), but the relatively high-intensity service with contiguous 4tph to everywhere on the ELL and non-contiguous 4tph as far as Willesden Junction on the NLL means that delays/cancellations are less problematic, even if crowding means they still make journeys difficult at peak times. Although very crowded I think the Goblin was fairly reliable until the electrification debacle.
The MTIN for 378s is unremarkable at 15000 but when you consider how few miles they cover in a day due to the proximity of the stops, they don't do bad.
