Hi all, I am planning to use NJ 402 from Zurich to the Netherlands next week and work has booked me on the EC 332 from Milan to connect into the night train. The connection is 32 minutes, so I am not sure if that's too little time or not. Does anyone know how reliable this train normally is? If not reliable, I might reserve a train earlier (I will be on an Interrail, so not too expensive).

Those trains are not known for their punctuality (and often make a mess of the domestic service too). If connecting into a night train I would leave more time and enjoy a leisurely dinner if things are on time.

That specific train has a punctuality of just 46%, though the very large delays are rare, so advisable to take an earlier one. Details here: https://www.zugfinder.net/en/train-EC_332.it
Fits also with my experience with one of those ECs when I was in Switzerland this summer.

Zürich HB is also not an easy station to make a quick change due to its size in combination with terminating platforms.
But plenty of options to eat as Blechleyite already suggests.

You can shorten the time in trains and a shorter route, by changing in Arth/Goldau or nearby to direct IC To Basel-and get into NJ from there. That is in fact the route prescribed on normal tickets as via Z is detour. On a pass this will not matter.

In the end, I reserved the train before. It was exactly on time, so I had more than enough time for an expensive Swiss dinner. Even the night train was on time, which I believe is very rare.
