The 1743 stopper off Redhill was 30 mins late last night. The 1813 off Redhill which is the fast Gatwick service was on it's tail and getting more delayed for obvious reasons. When the 1743 arrived at Guildford it seemed to me that any smart operator would allow the fast to overtake the slow as there was only 4 minutes between trains. Did it happen? Er No! What a shambles!

The smart operator looks at the big picture and chooses the option that causes the least disruption.

The stopper may have further delayed the Gatwick. Personally knowing the people involved in that decision process I can assure you it would only have been done if it was the least-worst option.

It's called TDA! A brilliant idea designed by someone who had/has not a clue about common sense or sensible train regulation. Still until such time as someone who does have clue about it and replaces it with something better we're stuck with it and you're train service will have to be late.
