I don't think I've posted this already but if I have, mods please feel free to remove it.
The summer timetable commenced last Saturday (15th June) and will continue every Saturday and Sunday now until 15th September, including the August bank holiday Monday.
Undoubtedly the best news for the new season is the return to steam of O&K No1 which has been undergoing restoration since 2004. It is 50 years since the loco was last in steam and it is taking over passenger duties while sister loco O&K No3 undergoes a full boiler inspection. A further addition to the railway is the opening of the new carriage gallery which has a number of uniques exhibits and plenty of information about the railway former Belfast & Co Down Railway.
If you find yourself 'across the water' try to make the trip to Downpatrick.
Further details are available on the DCDR website http://www.downrail.co.uk/index.htm
