Hello.

Does anyone know if there are still services regularly scheduled for 810 railcars in their unrebuilt form around (or reachable by day trip) from Prague?

The railfaneurope web site lists over 200 in service but I don't know how up to date it is.

I don't have the patience to look through all the services at https://www.zelpage.cz/razeni/ in the hope of coming across one, and if there's a way of specifically searching for this I can't find it...

Thanks!

I traveled with KŽC Doprava aboard of one of their historical diesel trains along the Pražský Semmering / Prague Semmering line. This is one of the most beautiful railway lines around Prague. This service is known as Pražský motoráček / Prague motor-coach train and is operated by private carrier KŽC Doprava. KŽC operates many historic trains on several routes and also public obligation routes. More you can find on: www.kzc.cz

Railway company: KŽC Doprava
Train number: Os 7750
Route: Praha hl. n. - Praha-Zličín
Duration: 0h33m
Train type: Class 810 motor railcar
Class: 2nd
Seat: Free seating
Date: February 2021

But it seems that they now use 830s on that route.

You might catch an 810 on the S43 between Neratovice and Kralupy nad Vltavou.

You should try http://sledovani.55p.cz/
- at least if you have a device that will autotranslate but allow you to use Czech so you can "untranslate" station names! It tells me that:

- the ordinary Semmering service is booked for 810s and is mostly within the Prague urban zone for ticketing.
- next nearest is line 212 from Cercany, better known for weekend Goggles, which has at least 5 diagrams for 810s (combine with visiting Sternberk castle?).
- the delightfully remote branch route west from Rakovnik to Becov has them
- there are another 5 around Kralupy to the north.

Whether they are unrebuilt depends on your definition - I think they all have hopper windows now not drop-down ones.

Thanks. Much appreciated. I will try to get the hang of how that web site works (even though my broadband supplier thinks that it's dodgy and blocks it...)

I hadn't expected any to still be running in Prague itself.

As for definition of unrebuilt that's a fair point. I was thinking of anything that can still call itself an 810 or that looks not dissimilar (809?), but not an 814 (not that they don't have their own charm).

Many lines on which they used to run have been installed last year.
I do not think there are nay left for regular service as ´unrebuilt´-the newest rebuilts are now in CD-blue and got the nickname RegioMouse on them. At least all in the PID area are fitted for OMO and have ticket cancellers.
Note-there are daytickets for the whole PID area, price depends on if you have free travel for inner Praha or not. Seniors >70 can get free travel, but have to organise a card for that.

KZC runs a very few in near original condition as weekend-only excursion lines in the DUK-verbund area (Usti nad Labem, between Praha and Germany). This area also has cheap daytickets.

Thanks - as I said above by rebuilt I was thinking of the conversions into 2 and 3 car trains. A Regiomouse looks enough like the original to me.

Thanks, I did wonder if that was what you meant. 814s are diagrammed separately (in theory).

The international section of this forum is great for little gems I would never hear about anywhere else. I am now looking at a Czech Republic trip thanks to these posts today!

Will add to other comments recommending a trip on an 810 from Praha hl.n to Hostivice via the Prague Semmering line. At bare minimum, I'd say go up to Praha-Zličin which gives the best views.

I'm already sold on the idea!
