Hi everyone, once again thanks for your opinions on this subject. This is exactly what I like about forums where i'm a bit uncertain about something, and than I have different opinions from people and thats good. There are some major points raised both for and against doing the assessment day of my own back (and wallet).
My main concerns about wether to do it or not were both for and against such as, thinking it showed a bit of initiative, and my chosen TOC has an extra form to fill in called quick fact finder if your applying for a driver position on their site and asks specifically if I have attended one of these courses, however, on the against side, that same form says have I attended this course in last 6 months. Begs me to think what if I done the course successfully more than 6 months ago, does this mean they acknowledge it . My other fear again has been raised here, so thanks for that, and that is simply, what if (famous WHAT IF) I gain the certificate and my chosen TOC doesnt recruit within the required timescale of the certificate being valid, and on that point, I dont know how long the TOC i'm interested in acknowledges it,(the 6 months seems way too short a period). The big doubt is still would it improve my chances. I think it would be good if I can find out the opinions of the people in charge of shortlisting application forms at the TOC of choice, then at least if they say it makes no difference, then theres no point.
By the way, are ther any more people who work with C2C who can shed a bit of advise.
Many thanks every one and all the best for 2013.
