How come?? I thought they were doing all that extension stuff like you tried explaining on MSN?

It makes more sense putting them on shorter diagrams (Edinburgh - Plymouth) in order to concentrate the most seats on the busiest parts of the route. Penzance means each diagram is 1 long distance service, the way it is going to be come December will mean each train works 2 trains, so makes more sense.

They'll probably just give them a sheet and ask for a signature

The guard still does announcements so thats good, hate the robotic ones.

Although am I the only one who loves it whem the woman in the lifts says 'Going down'. What a saucepot

yes i am pleased about that, i here virgin are putting automatic annoucements on pendolino's. they sound awfull.

i am defently going to take a trip on one of the referbished sets the 1st chance i get. i'm going to go and photogragh it tomorrow its passes where i live.

But only from the buffet....TGS has old style PA ping (we think, process of elimination). Oh, and at various times it was bleeping like a game of pacman!

are these ex NXEC or MML coaches? Cos they should in theory be different.

You're probably more likely to see me on the outside of the fresh set on one of those days. If so, i'll let you know when and where

If memory serves VWC had three HST sets however when they were let go, other TOCS snapped them up, along with the 7 car XC sets, GNER now run 9 car HSTs instead of the old 8 car sets, FGW took some extra sets on and Network rail converted some for their use aswell. As far as I know there are ex-HST coaches in use (those that are still in MML colours being a prime example), but some have been converted from LH coaches.

As of Friday the new set XC01 was withdrawn from service due to the continuation of the electrical gremlins regarding air-con, reservation and more importantly lighting. It seems whether it be some unknowns in Devon, or Wabtec it is not easy to reliably convert loco-hauled mk3s for HST working.

Set did not work south today, will update when the first working occurs, set was last on 06:40 Plymouth - Aberdeen diagram

No this is a disaster it better be running on friday on either Northbound or Southbound diagram. I'm going on both to try and get on it.

I heard it had problems going South last week either Bristol or Birmingham area.

Is their just one set been referbished

Only one set refurbished yet. Looks like it wont be in service until they can get the problems sorted which is a good thing as otherwise they will never go.
