On Saturday 19th July I was on the 12:30 London Liverpool Street to Great Yarmouth service and I was travelling on a 1st class advanced ticket through to Great Yarmouth but when leaving Ipswich there was an announcement stating the train would terminate at Norwich and we would have to catch a Norwich to Great Yarmouth service. Is it possible to claim any form of refund? (Part or full). 1. There was no 1st class accommodation on the Norwich to Great Yarmouth service.
2. It caused me to have to change trains at Norwich which is something I wanted to avoid.

How much compensation would I be able to get? Would it be full as it was cancelled or not?

Any help would be great. :D

I guess you paid minimum for your fare? I think you will get back very little.

Having to change trains is not a reason for compensation, however depending on how late your journey was you might be entitled to Delay Repay.

The lack of First Class facilities will probably see you get something as a goodwill gesture, but don't expect a large sum. So if you paid £15 for your ticket, they may give you a £5 or £10 RTV.

You are entitled to the difference between the fares, so if you went Standard all the way it would be about £2 (if the ticket was the lowest tier) however you had 1st accommodation for almost the entire journey.

In this case, there is arguably no difference to refund, as 1st Advance tickets are the same price to Liverpool St or Great Yarmouth and it's only on occasional Summer Saturdays where you'd ever get 1st on the latter, and there is no 1st class fare for Norwich-Great Yarmouth either.

No compensation is due for having to change trains. I know why you're saying you wanted to avoid changing - you didn't want to get off the loco hauled service.;) It's unfortunate, but not a reason for compensation.

If you were not delayed by more than 30 minutes, compensation is arguably not applicable. However I suspect they might send you a gesture of goodwill.
