On Saturday 4th December I arrived at Kings Cross with My Advance First Ticket - London Terminals to Huddersfield change at York, with plusbus. Total cost £56, purchased by credit card through First Transpennine's website) for my booked 19.30 service to York.
The train had been cancelled.
I was given the option by the helpful East Coast staff of taking the next train (I think the 20.00 service) but by taking this I would miss my connection in York.
I therefore chose to make alternative arrangements and stayed down in London for the night and blagged a lift home the next day.
The questions are
A. May I, and to whom do I, apply for a refund, East Coast or Transpennine?
B. If so, can I reclaim the £3 plusbus portion of the ticket cost back?
and
C. How do I best go about the refund process, do I return tickets or photo copies, do I send the claim Special Delivery, and if so can I claim this cost back also?
