seen refreshments on arriva Wales between aber, and shrewsbury, also on scotrail inverness, to Edinburgh, and trans pennines Edinburgh, Manchester.

Done Glasgow to Cardiff yesterday via Man Picc . The TPE had a Trolley service to Preston then afterwards it was too Crowded for the Trolley to come through 
On the ATW service the Trolley came on at Shrewsbury and the guy instead of asking if anyone wanted any refreshments asked everyone ' You ok'

The Arriva Trains Wales trolleys usually always get down to Birmingham International. I usually see ATW bring on a fresh trolley at Shrewsbury for the Birmingham leg.

Speaking of on-board refreshments, I've always wondered - Given the number of the things on station platforms across the network - Why they havn't started installing coffee and snack machines on trains over here? 
If the Norwegens, Germans and Japanese can manage it, I can't see any reason why we couldn't...

Personally, I'd prefer the draught Beck's in Deutsche Bahn bistros.
DB has a great special - for 5 you can get a frikadelle (it's really a plump burger in a small bun) and a half-litre drink (including Beck's!) for 5. Since a half-litre Beck's alone costs 3.90, it's a bargain!
If your lucky to see them more then once in a trip.. Some of them are shocking and only make one pass through the whole train and thats it..
Had a nice early morning trip on XC a couple of months back. Trolley came through as soon as we left Leeds, with Trolley Dolly saying to just about everyone (myself included) "Sorry, no change". Came back forty minutes later saying exactly the same. I suspect she hadn't sold much!
