Can anyone explain to me why there are at least six Southern employees at Redhill station today, despite there only being four services all day (GWR to Reading)? There are also big signs saying the station is closed (not true) and the departure boards are pretending that no services are running…

If staff are booked to work, they're supposed to turn up. What else would you expect to happen?
As for the sign, whoever wrote it probably doesn't know what service is being provided.
